Undergraduate Chemistry

Undergraduate ChemistryUndergraduate Irvine Chemistry courses are offered by faculty of the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of California Irvine. With their expertise in ancient and modern alchemy, they are able to integrate classical and modern alchemy to help students develop their understanding of their substance and the application of its principles.Students also benefit from the expertise of the Associate Professor of Chemistry in Irvine, Dr. John Lim, who oversees the teaching of Chemistry and other subjects in the School of Chemical Sciences at UC Irvine. Dr. Lim specializes in the field of alchemy, in particular the study of cosmological principles. He is interested in the study of the concept of universal time as well as the arts of alchemy and divination. The Interactive Chemistry Laboratory at the School of Chemical Sciences is a world-class research laboratory to help students learn how to use the materials in the laboratories of Chemistry to do their own exp eriments. Students will be able to follow directions provided by the staff and see what is happening on the lab bench. They will be taught about how to conduct research, get various types of laboratory safety and equipment knowledge, and learn what it is like to handle and work with different types of substances. When a student is beginning his or her studies at UC Irvine, the Undergraduate Chemistry programs are designed to provide one year of study. The first year of this program allows students to develop knowledge of fundamental concepts and principles in Chemistry. Through these first two years of their studies, students will develop an appreciation for the methods and general structure of alchemy. After completing the first year of Undergraduate Chemistry at UC Irvine, students can choose to continue their studies. If they choose to do so, they will have to reevaluate the needs of their career and find out if they would be able to find a suitable post-grad position at UC Irvine. Many students who continue their studies at UC Irvine pursue their academic careers in Physical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biophysics. For those students who chose to move onto the second year of the Undergraduate Chemistry program, the curriculum will require additional coursework. The second year of Undergraduate Chemistry is designed to better prepare students for careers in academia, the scientific and business community, government, pharmaceutical research, and other areas.Students who decide to continue their education at UC Irvine can specialize in areas of specialization. The Department of Chemistry also offers Certificate programs in Chemistry, which are designed to enhance the academic skills of its students.
